How to Choose the Perfect Size for Your Rug?

Choosing the size of your rug is just as important as choosing its patterns or colors. A common mistake is choosing a rug that is too small, making the room feel cramped.
In the living room: The golden rule is that the rug must anchor your seating area. Ideally, all furniture legs (sofa, armchairs) should rest on the rug. If not possible, ensure at least the front legs of your sofa are on it (a 200x300cm or 250x350cm format is often recommended).
In the bedroom: For a double bed, place a large rug perpendicularly under the bed. It should extend at least 60 to 80 cm on each side and at the foot of the bed to offer a soft landing in the morning. The alternative: place two runners on each side of the bed.
In the dining room: The rug must be large enough for chairs to remain on it, even when pulled back to sit. Allow at least 60 to 70 cm of rug beyond the edge of the table.
